My best adventure was an overland backpacking trip from Bali to London over 6 months – completely independently, using local buses and trains.  This was the best experience of my life and taught me so many things about life in general, other cultures and customs, and how to deal with all sorts of events and people.

I’m completely in love with Langkawi in Malaysia. I grew up there as a child when it was very different – we were the only western people on the whole island, and we had to get a ferry across to the mainland to stock up on supplies. These days it has become a beach resort, but it still has that relaxed feel about it – still very un-populated, slow pace of life, but with more hotels and resorts dotted around the island. I go there whenever I can for holidays – and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.
