Travel to Morocco in 'lush and green' springtime
E-mail Print

Country can get too hot for some in the summer

People planning to take a solo holiday to Morocco should not underestimate the extremes of temperature the country experiences - and may like to visit in spring.

That is according to Stefanie Di Trocchio, a travel expert who put forward this opinion in an article on the Lonely Planet website.

Ms Di Trocchio, who works as a commissioning editor for the travel guidebook company, noted that spring is when a happy medium of temperatures is reached.

"Go in spring when lots of Morocco is lush and green. Don't underestimate the extremes of summer and winter - they can be brutal," she said.

"Ramadan is an interesting time to travel, but be aware that many restaurants and cafes will be shut during the day."

The Lonely Planet author added that people visiting the north African country should "treat bargaining in souks as a friendly game". Saying they should not accept the first price offered in these markets, as bargaining is "an intrinsic part of the culture" and is expected.

This year, Ramadan will be held from the August 1st to the 30th.
