People can take in the vibrant coral reefs

One of the many ways that adventurers on activity trips can experience the Maldives at its finest is simply by snorkelling in the stunning, clear waters just off its coast.

Visit Maldives, the tourism organisation for the Indian Ocean islands, noted that people are able to see the country's vibrant reefs while exploring the waters.

"The warm seas of Maldives have high visibility throughout the year, with water clear enough to see the passing fish as far as fifty metres away at times," the outfit noted on its website.

"Add to that the marvellous formation of over 3,000 coral reefs and the free flowing tides of the monsoons. The result of these perfect conditions have created one of the world's richest diving coral reef areas."

The tourism organisation also noted the fantastic biodiversity of the Maldives' coastal regions, with over 1,000 species of marine wildlife inhabiting the seas surrounding the islands.
