Denali National Park offers grizzlies, golden eagles and North America's largest peak

Denali National Park offers visitors on adventure holidays to Alaska imperious views of "towering granite spires" and "snowy summits", according to Travel Alaska.

Boasting awe-inspiring scenery, the preserve covers 160 miles of Alaskan territory with summits rising so high that they are surrounded by clouds.

Denali is also home to North America's highest peak, Mount McKinley, which stands at an impressive height of 20,320 feet.

The state's tourism board notes that beyond the awesome raw power of the tundra, Denali is also known for its impressive wildlife, boasting 37 species of mammals and 130 different kinds of bird, including the golden eagle.

Arguably most impressive is the Grizzly Bear, which can often be spotted in its natural habitat in the park.

Travel Alaska highlights the popularity of the park, which receives 432,000 visitors annually.

"Here at Denali, unlike most wilderness areas in the country, you don't have to be a backpacker to see this wildlife - people who never sleep in a tent have excellent once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to get a close look at these magnificent creatures roaming free in their natural habitat," it says.
