Steep yourself in tradition on adventure holidays in Havana
E-mail Print

There are many sights to enjoy on adventure holidays in Havana.

Follow in the footsteps of writer Ernest Hemingway, one of the most famous outsiders to praise Cuba's culture, with adventure holidays in the country's capital of Havana.

The city is a bustling relic of the old-time Caribbean, complete with historic architecture, maritime ports and beaches and ancient traditions which live on into the modern day.

Visitors can check out Castillo de la Real Fuerza, one of the oldest buildings in the city, which used to house the colonial Spanish governors who ruled over Cuba from the late 16th century onwards.

Those with a taste for liquor can head to the Museum of Rum to find out how the Cubans make some of the best variations of the drink in the world, as well as sample some for themselves.

Fans of the author of The Old Man And The Sea can also take a trip to the Ernest Hemingway Museum, featuring his old typewriter, books and personal objects used during his time in Havana.
