Peru's capital has 'one of the most fabulous sunsets in the world'

Lima, the capital of Peru, offers people on adventure holidays views of some of the most "fabulous" sunsets in the world.

That is according to Hugh Thomson, who was writing about his experience in Lima for The Daily Telegraph. He said that the sunsets have a distinct and classic "Californian" quality.

"Lima must have one of the most fabulous sunsets in the world," he wrote.

"It helps, of course, that the city faces due west across the Pacific, so the setting sun can flood into the beaches and pick out the last surfers elegantly essaying a few lines."

The journalist went on to recommend the country's cuisine, especially ceviche, which has found popularity among the world's top restaurants. The fish cooked in citrus can be found around the capital for a reasonable price.

People planning adventure holidays to the South American country may also wish to take a trip to the town of Arequipa, located next to El Misti volcano.
