New figures suggest Bulgaria is now one of Europe's hottest travel destinations.
Bulgaria's status as one of the most popular destinations for solo holidays in Europe has been further enhanced with new statistics showing that the number of foreign tourists visiting the country continues to climb.
According to the latest data from the Bulgarian government, the number of foreign tourists was up by six per cent in the first two months of the year when compared with the same period of 2010.
More specifically, it was seen that Britons, Russians and Greek tourists continue to be the most enthralled with the attractions of Bulgaria, which include undeveloped Black Sea beach towns, affordable ski resorts and spectacular national parks.
The figures also show that the number of holidaymakers visiting the country's cultural highlights, such as the museums of the capital Sofia, has also risen markedly over recent months, suggesting it is establishing itself as a prime destination for well-rounded solo holidays.
Bulgaria's tourism authority has opened a new information centre in the south of France as it looks to promote the country in new markets.
