Visit the Kruger National Park on family holidays to South Africa
E-mail Print

Holidaymakers will find much more than big game at the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Family holidays to South Africa can be made all the more memorable with a trip to the Kruger National Park.

One of the country's most popular outdoor attractions, the park is filled with plenty of big game, as well as areas of immense beauty, luscious forests and plenty of rich history.

Visitors will be surrounded by some of the oldest living organisms on the planet, with the park's ancient baobab trees each living for thousands of years.

"The trees line the banks of the Limpopo and Luvuvhu rivers: the slim, pale, luminescent green trunks of the fever trees glimmering between the massive dark brown trunks of the baobabs," says the South African tourism agency.

"It's easy to imagine you're in a Brothers Grimm story, where witches and fairies lurk around every corner."

Kruger National Park offers a great opportunity for wildlife lovers to see some of Africa's best-loved animal species including the Big Five.

They can also travel to the tiny kingdom of Swaziland and enjoy the wildlife sanctuary at Mlilwane.
