Egypt's main museum is 'a place of true discovery'

People on adventure holidays in Egypt should visit one of the most awe-inspiring historical museums in the world.

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, often simply known as the Egypt Museum, is based in the capital of Cairo where it houses 120,000 attractions from the time of pharaohs and pyramids.

Mark T Rigby, an expert on ancient Egypt who maintains a website about the historical period of time, said that the only bad thing that could be said about museum is that there is just too much to see.

"It is a place of true discovery and, even after many visits, I continue to make new and delightful discoveries every time I venture into its many galleries," he said.

"To be sure, the museum can be daunting in the sheer numbers of its antiquities on show, but there is an order within its layout and it is a dream come true for anyone wanting to study Egyptian antiquities."

One of the most famous exhibits at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities is that of Tutankhamen's tomb including the Pharaoh's gold funeral mask.
