Visit Tenerife for 'a unique hybrid' of Japanese and Spanish cuisine

Hiking holidays to the island can take in the restaurant at the end of the day

It is easy to imagine where the best sushi in the world can be found, isn't it? Well the answer, according to travel writer Priscilla Pollara, may surprise you.

There are many things to do on a solo holiday to Tenerife - or any of the Canary Islands - but the Daily Mail writer has suggested that one thing that must be tried is the Japanese delicacy.

"It is on the largest and greenest of the Canary Islands [Tenerife] that you find acclaimed Spanish chef Ricardo Sanz's Kabuki - a restaurant whose menu celebrates a unique hybrid of Spanish and Japanese cuisine," she said.

Travellers planning hiking holidays in the area may like to eat a delicious meal of sushi after a long day of walking.

Ms Pollara says that one of the reasons for the great sushi on Tenerife is the relative similarity between the food and the cuisine of Spain. Particularly striking is that the way of eating sushi is remarkably similar to the Iberian experience of tapas.
