Payment
Deposit
To secure a booking we require a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the tour price per person. On occasions a higher deposit may be required, you will be advised at time of booking. Where travel is within 60 days of booking full payment is required. A higher deposit will be payable if any supplier(s) requires additional payment at the time of booking/prior to balance due date. On occasions, full payment for a service such as your flights may be required at the time of booking. The applicable deposit will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Travel Insurance
Adequate travel insurance with protetction for at least US $100,000 emergency medical evacuation plus US $100,000 medical expenses is required. For deatils of a policy that provides this cover click here.
Final Payment
A final invoice will be sent to you 9 weeks before departure. Payment of the balance is due no later than 60 days prior to departure.
Debit & Credit Cards
You can pay the deposit and full amount by credit or debit card. We accept Visa and, Mastercard. All charges are transacted in the UK in the currency in which your booking is made. We do not charge fees for credit card transactions in USD or CAD. However because all transactions are processed in the UK some banks or credit card companies may charge a foreign transaction fee (even though we will be charging your card in USD or CAD). Any foreign transaction fees are levied by your bank or credit card company and are not charged or collected by Explore. Therefore we recommend you check with your credit card company to see what their policy is with respect to foreign transaction fees as these range from zero to 3% depending on the card used. If you are a regular international traveller we recommend you utilize a credit card that does not impose foreign transaction fees.
Documentation
Confirmation – once your booking has been confirmed, a Holiday Confirmation will be sent to you along with additional tour information.
Final Invoice – if your booking is made more than 9 weeks prior to departure, you will receive a separate Final Invoice detailing the outstanding balance.
Travel documents – Detailed information for joining the tour, airline tickets and luggage labels should reach you no later than 1 to 2 weeks prior to departure.
Booking Checklist
Travel Insurance – is mandatory for all customers on all Explore tours.
Pre-existing Medical Conditions – must be declared to your insurers.
Insurance documentation – all relevant information must be carried with you on tour.
Passports – at least 6 months validity required.
Visas – ensure adequate time to obtain all visas & make sure you have enough space in your passport for stamps.
Fitness & Ability – all customers must be fit and healthy enough and able to participate in all included elements of the tour.
Names – most airlines now require full first and surname of passengers. These must be provided exactly as per passport, otherwise boarding may be denied.
Booking conditions – you will be asked if you have read and understood the Booking Conditions and General Information when you book, and you are bound to do so. Although many people decide not to read the small print, you will find a lot of pertinent information included – thank you for taking the time to do this.
