Thailand Cambodia Adventure Tour

Overview

Two Capitals
We commence our sightseeing in the dynamic Thai capital Bangkok, where we visit the Royal Palace and glittering temples and have the opportunity to explore the city from its canals. Next we fly to Cambodia's Phnom Penh, a completely different yet equally fascinating city. As well as the National Museum of Arts and Royal Palace, we spend time at the horrifying Tuol Sleng Museum and The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek - stark reminders of the country's more recent unsettled history.

Fabled Home of God-kings
We journey overland to Siem Reap, our base for the discovery and exploration of the vast ruins of the fabled royal city of Angkor, lost and forgotten for over 500 years in the Cambodian jungle. Some 150 square kilometres are scattered with walled cities and magnificent stone temples, sculptures, reservoirs and causeways, built between the 9th and 13th centuries. Situated in an extraordinary jungle setting, it possesses a mystical and spiritual grandeur similar to the 'lost' city of Machu Picchu in Peru. We also take an excursion to nearby Tonle Sap Lake for a boat trip to the floating villages of Chong Kneas.

Tour Highlights

  • Bangkok - Guided tour by foot to include the Grand Palace and Wat Pho.
  • Phnom Penh - Sightseeing in Cambodia’s charming capital city.
  • Angkor - Discover the world’s largest temple complex to include Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, The Bayon, Banteay Srei and Ta Phrom.
  • Tonle Sap - A boat excursion on Cambodia’s ‘Great Lake’ including a visit to some of its many floating villages.
