What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
Iguaçu Falls and the Ilha Grande were my favorites. The view from the Parrots Beak on the trek was great.

How was your Explore Tour Leader?
Both Blanca and Marie Lou were excellent and extremely helpful and knowledgable
What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
Be prepared to be in a very inferior hotel in Buenos Aires in a not very good area. In fact we were warned by locals not to walk too far in the opposite direction to the City centre. Also tremendous amount of bus travel which is highlighted in the trip notes.
Do you have anything else to add?
Curitiba was a bit of a waste of time, but we were there in a thunder storm.
Our response
We were sorry you did not like the Mari Plaza. We agree that it has limited facilities, but think its central location offsets the lack of these. Some care needs to be taken in most big city centres, and we would always warn of this, but we have had no reports from our customers or tour leaders of issues relating to security. All hotel feedback is monitored continually, and we do make changes if necessary.
We think Curitiba is interesting, admittedly in a slightly abstract way – such matters as its green credentials and at least two stunning architectural features – the Oscar Niemeyer Art Gallery, and the Wire Opera House. But it is the ideal base for making the lovely Serra do Mar train trip, and we need a comfortable place to break the journey between Iguaçu and Paraty, and feel that Curitiba fulfils this function very well.
