Morocco didn`t disappoint. Despite my doing in-depth research, nothing prepared me for the actual experience which was enhanced by the friendly efficiency of Aziz, our tour leader and the wonderful mix of group members, many of whom were young enough to be my grandchildren, but all of whom welcomed me into their fold. Indeed, it was me, and not one of them, who enjoyed a 2am tour of Essaouira on the pillion of a security guard`s motorbike...whilst they all had to walk back to our hotel! Chefchouan is an artist`s paradise. An amazingly blue town....where nothing is risque. Fes offered even more delights. Indeed, would that I had engineered extending my sojourn in Morocco by having the wit to lose myself in its extensive souk, especially as it wouldn`t have taken much effort because getting lost there was alarmingly easy. The raison d`etre of my trip was to see all the vast, unbaked clay kasbahs which are an incredible, architectural feat. Our tour encompassed a multitude of Morocco`s `must sees` and `must dos`. I, long ago, appreciated that one never sees, or does more, than when on an Explore trip. Hence my repeated bookings. Would that I were monied, as I would help to keep Explore in business and rarely touch home. How many security guard bikers are there out there? (QMK- 21st March 2010)
