What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
I have been on a number of Explore trips including those for at the high end of cost/duration, yet this one week trip managed to be one of my best ever holidays. Great hiking which challenged but was not too arduous, fabulous scenery, great company, wonderful hospitality. Didn't stop laughing all week. Very happy memories. Stromboli didn't disappoint and walking over Etna at 3000m was awesome.

Maurizio was a fab tour leader with just the right combination of being your friend, your guide and also very conscious of safety/clients abilities when hiking. He threw in lots of complimentary additional extras (wine tasting, food, amazing ice cream). Maurizio managed to be charming, very "Italian," and immensely knowlegeable about volcanos in four languages
What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
Mount Etna Trek - it was totally awesome!! we were the only group on the North face of the mountain which made the trek really personal and intimate. It was my first visit to Sicily & certainly wont be my last, It is a beautiful & Vibrant part of Italy with hidden gems around every corner!

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
Dont hesitate - just book it - it is a fabulous itinerary with lots to offer. Trekking on live Volcanoes, walking through lush pine forrests, relax on the beach and take a dip in the crystal clear waters! and of course enjoy the AMAZING food and wine! what more can you want from a week away.
It was an amazing experience. It was a big risk for me as I had never hiked before, but the guide was supportive, the group were all encouraging and it's by far the best thing to do.
It's a very detailed and intense trip and not for the faint hearted. I liked the planning of the days, the choice of what to do after the hikes. All in all a very pleasing holiday. Stromboli was by far the highlight, with Vulcano 2nd. (SV -21st May 2011)
