This holiday exceeded our expectations; we had 2 tour guides, one looks after you in Thailand and the next takes over once you have gone over the border into Cambodia - both were excellent, with an obvious love and pride in their countries.  Cambodia was a real surprise - the people are lovely, smiling all the time despite having virtually nothing and having to deal with bad flooding.  The temples at Angkor are amazing; Phnom Penh a bustling and in places quite Western city - be careful crossing the road in Cambodia & Vietnam!!  Explore have given this trip a low activity level but we would warn anyone with reduced mobility or not particularly fit that the trek in the Thai jungle and negotiating some of the Khmer temples is quite strenuous. This tour really got started from the minute we entered Cambodia. What an amazing country, with the most resilient and humbling people. These people seem to hold no malice over the suffering they have endured and this permeates the whole atmosphere of the country.  Angkor was the draw for me to visit Cambodia but it is the present day culture that draws me to return. My enduring memory of the country, however is a haunting one. I will never forget the shock of finding myself at age 37 the oldest person visible on the streets of a city with a population of one million. Angkor does not disappoint and will enthral any visitor, but I challange anyone to not fall in love with this country's beautiful people. (BK- 6th November 2010)
