Tell us about yourself
What do you most love sharing with Explore groups?
I like to share the knowledge transcended to me by my grandparents and wonder how my ancestors managed to build wonders with less technology but with great determination on this small island. I like to share also the know-how of growing vegetables, local recipes and village feasts, which are part of Malta’s traditions. I enjoy narrating the stories of the Islands and its strategic location.
What are you most proud of in your country?
Although Malta has no natural resources, the islands managed to prosper and while in the past the Maltese were migrating abroad to seek work, today, Malta welcomes other nationalities to work in its service sector.
What do travellers find most surprising when they visit?
That the ‘Maltese Terrier’ is not actually Maltese and that the real Maltese dog is the ‘Pharaoh hound’ or ‘Kelb tal-Fenek’. And, that the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader were previously both body builders.
What is your favourite local food?
Fresh fish dishes would probably be my favourite.
