James taught English in Madrid for five years after university, which ignited an interest in foreign cultures and travel. He then worked as an Explore Tour Leader for around 10 years, at first almost exclusively in Central America and South America, and then later more globally into parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe. He continued his passion for learning and experiencing different cultures as part of Explore's Product team, designing and running trips and reacting to feedback. He's a keen cyclist and spends most holidays seeking out local cuisine or hiking in the mountains. As a Spanish speaker and fan of everything Hispanic, he has a huge passion for Latin America.
