1. Stronger family bonds

One of the biggest reasons families travel with us is simple: shared experiences create stronger connections. Our trips are full of memorable moments – guided city tours, hands-on cooking classes, energetic outdoor activities – but it's often the smaller, unexpected moments that stay with you.

Maybe it's watching your teenager grow in confidence as they order gelato in Italy, or laughing together during a family adventure in Croatia. Many find that it's these smaller moments that become family stories for years to come.

2. Educational opportunities

Travel has a way of turning knowledge into something vivid and memorable. Whether your teen is considering a Geography degree or you simply want to bring the school syllabus to life, our trips offer immersive, real-world learning.

  • For History, join our Family Egypt or Family Belize tours: Journey from Cairo to Hurghada where kids can see sphinxes, pyramids and mummies up close. Or, explore ancient Maya temple ruins in Belize.

  • For Modern Languages, join our Family Spain tour: As Spanish is one of the main foreign languages taught in the school syllabus, learners can put their skills to the rest in the Pyrenees.

  • For Art & Design, join our Family Morocco or Family India tours: Budding fashion designers and architects will be endlessly inspired by the patterns, designs and textiles in Morocco. India is a similar story, awash with vibrant colors and intricate architecture at every turn.

  • For Physical Education, join our Family Thailand tour: From jungle hikes to sea swims, kayaking to bike rides, this tour is packed with active adventures – including a fun introduction to Thai boxing (Muay Thai).

  • For Geography, join our Family Borneo or Family wildlife tours: Discover diverse ecosystems and landscapes, learn about wildlife conservation and see Big Cats and other exotic wildlife up close.

3. One-of-a-kind moments

Our guided family adventures follow a thoughtfully designed itinerary, with optional activities and plenty of free time for one-on-one family moments. Traveling in a small group means you’ll discover places you might never have found on your own – and learn from the people you meet along the way.

That could look like sea kayaking trip over sunken ruins in Turkey, or dining at an open-air restaurant in Sri Lanka. These are the kinds of experiences that broaden horizons and spark curiosity.

4. Flexibility

Our family adventure planning service includes transport and accommodation, operate over multiple departure dates and are based around the school breaks. Plus, almost all of our departures are guaranteed.

We know that flexibility is important when planning a trip. With our Explore Flex poilcy you can transfer to another adventure if your trip is over 10 days away, or you can request a credit voucher.  Find out more about our booking conditions here.

How to travel with confidence

5. Travel with ease

With a set itinerary and expert tour leader, there’s no need to juggle logistics or plan activities that suit everyone. We take care of accommodation, transfers and some meals, leaving you free to relax and enjoy the journey.

You’ll just need to arrange flights (we can help with that), personal spending, additional meals and any optional activities you choose to add.

So, if you're looking for multi-activity family adventure deals, here at Explore Worldwide we offer plenty of choice – from family safaris in Botswana to living la dolce vita on the Amalfi Coast.

6. New friendship opportunities

Each family trip has a minimum age (either 7+ or 11+), depending on the activities involved. This can be for a range of reasons, from age-appropriate activities to insurance requirements, and ensures everyone can take part safely and enjoyably. The average child age on our trip is 13 years old.

Kids often make friends quickly, whether they’re splashing in the sea or reading on deck during our Caique Cruise Family Holiday in Greece.

Parents often form friendships too, sharing stories, meals and experiences throughout the trip.

7. Inspiring conscious travel

Family small‑group adventures can spark a lifelong commitment to conscious travel. When young people explore the world with a certified B Corp company, they see first‑hand what responsible tourism looks like in action. Activities like cooking classes, conservation centre visits and discovering community projects show them how travel can give back.

Our registered charity, the Explore Foundation, supports the Mahout Foundation in Thailand. During our Family Thailand tour, we visit the village of Mae Sot, where the grassroots organisation provides a safe, natural environment for retired elephants to live out their lives in the jungle.

At the same time, members of the local Karen community train as mahouts (traditional elephant guides) allowing visitors to observe these animals in their natural habitat while directly supporting local livelihoods and responsible tourism.

Customer reviews:

"We have just returned from a great family holiday in India. Our Explore tour leader, Virender (Veeru) Singh was excellent. His depth of knowledge was outstanding and his unwavering enthusiasm really made our holiday. He was good company at meal times and always keen to know what he could do to make our trip even better. There were some lengthy bus trips to get to our destinations and he pointed out interesting things along the way to keep us engaged and entertained. He was really good with our twins, and was very accommodating and helpful with whatever they needed to enjoy the trip. He took us to places we wouldn't have found on our own and every step of the way the organisation of our transport, tickets and luggage was seamless." - Andrew and Ruth
