Morocco Tour Highlights
Our small group vacations to Morocco take you from the lively souks of Marrakech and Fes to the jagged peaks of the Atlas Mountains and the windswept beaches of Essaouira. Here are some trip highlights:
Marrakech
Join our Highlights of Morocco Tour and immerse yourself in the hustle of the imperial “red city.” Explore the walled medina, colorful souks and Djemaa el-Fnaa. Enjoy street food like couscous, harira soup and spicy merguez sausage. Don’t miss the towering Koutoubia Mosque or the ornate Saadian tombs.
Essaouira
A hotspot for watersports, Essaouira blends a laid-back vibe with history. Wander narrow lanes lined with craft shops, stroll the old ramparts, or surf Atlantic waves on our Morocco Family Adventure. End the day with a camel ride at sunset along golden sands.

Atlas Mountains
The Atlas Mountains, the highest in North Africa, are a highlight of any Morocco small group tour. Trek to the summit of Jebel Toubkal for panoramic views, or follow mountain trails on our Atlas to Atlantic Morocco Walking Tour. Visit Berber villages tucked into valleys and share a meal with local families to learn about their traditions.
Fes
In Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, the medina is a maze of artisan shops and food stalls. From tanners to potters, the craftsmanship here is unmatched. Visit ornate mosques and shrines like the Karaouine Mosque or Al Andalus Mosque on our Best of Morocco Discovery Tour.
Family Vacations in Morocco
On a family trip to Morocco, ride mules in the Atlas Mountains, sleep in a Berber tent in the Sahara, or let kids try surfing in Essaouira. Our Family Atlas Mountain and Sahara Adventure and Family Marrakech, Atlas and Essaouira Adventure are ideal for all ages.
Solo Travel in Morocco
Our Morocco small group tours are perfect for solo vacations - half of our guests typically come alone. Travel worry-free, meet like-minded adventurers and enjoy expert-led logistics.
Best time to go to Morocco
Morocco is a year-round destination. Spring and fall are the most popular, with cooler weather for city tours and desert treks. From June to September, hike quieter Atlas trails, while winter brings snow to Toubkal but peaceful souks in Fes.
Ramadan
Traveling during Ramadan offers deep cultural immersion. Expect some changes to routines, but it’s an unforgettable way to experience Morocco’s traditions and hospitality.
