Best cycling destinations in Vietnam
1. Cycle the Hon Giao Pass
Take on the Hon Giao Pass (1,700m) on our Cycle Saigon to Hanoi tour - a cycling challenge worth celebrating. The ascent takes you through lush green pine forests and across the dramatic mountain scenery. After a well deserved rest you’ll experience the exhilarating twists and turns of the virtually uninterrupted 30 kilometer descent.
2. Explore the Mekong Delta
The best way to explore the lush fertile plains of the Mekong Delta is on two wheels. The small villages with stilt houses are dotted throughout this complex network of waterways. The Mekong provides an abundant harvest including coconuts, fruits, rice and of course fish. Most of our Vietnam tours include the Mekong Delta, including our Cycle Vietnam and Cambodia trip.
3. Cycle around Hue
The Imperial City of Hue and surrounding countryside has much to offer, especially when explored by bike. Cycle along the Perfume River on our Cycle Vietnam tour and discover the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, home of the oldest monastery in the city whose 21m high tower has become a symbol for Hue.
Cycling through the leafy backstreets and out into the countryside you can visit the Ho Quyen amphitheater, where the emperor presided over duels between tigers and elephants, and the complex and ornate temples, pavilions and tombs built beside a picturesque lake at the 19th century Nguyen Tomb of Tu Duc.
The gentle ascent of Vong Canh Hill rewards you with spectacular views. From the pine forest atop the hill you can look over the Perfume River and the surrounding countryside and tombs of the Nguyen dynasty.
