Best family destinations in Vietnam

Discover Hoi An
Spend a day in the neighborhoods of Hoi An, an ancient town cut through with canals. Take a photograph at an early morning visit to Hoi An’s fish market. See the wonderfully preserved traditional wooden houses and Chinese temples. The town was once one of the busiest trading posts in South East Asia. Hire bikes and explore the surrounding countryside or take a 20-minute taxi ride to the nearby coast and spend the afternoon on the beach. Just one day of our Vietnam in Depth family tour.

Cruise around Halong Bay
Take an overnight cruise in a traditional junk boat through one of the most visually impressive landscapes in South East Asia on our Discover Vietnam family tour. Admire the dramatic coastline with mountainous islands jutting from the turquoise seas. Take a sea kayak or rowing boat to the nearby fishing village of Vung Vieng  and spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the bay scattered with islands and dotted with caves and grottos. Sample fresh seafood and regional dishes at dinner on board before a night spent anchored in Bai Tu Long Bay.

Explore the Mekong Delta
Cook a Vietnamese meal whilst staying in a traditional homestay in the lush fertile plains of the Mekong Delta. Cycle along the pathways to explore the small villages with stilt houses dotted between this complex network of waterways. The Mekong provides an abundant harvest and you’ll see the produce, including coconuts, fruits, rice and of course fish, in the many floating markets. This experience is included in our Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand Journey family tour.
