Walk across the Red Square and visit the Kremlin in Moscow. See the artwork in the world Famous Hermitage Museum and the many historic buildings of St. Petersburg, including the Saint Isaac’s Cathedral. Our rail tours in Europe are graded as Moderate or Full-On. Moderate tours are ideal if you want a holiday that combines exciting activities and experiences with plenty of time to relax and unwind. Full On tours are great for people who like their holidays packed with activities and experiences. These tours move quickly from place to place with some early starts and long days. 

What is the accommodation like on a rail journey in Europe?
Most of the accommodation on our rail journeys in Europe are comfortable hotels. On some of our rail journeys we spend a night on an overnight sleeper train. These are a great way to travel between cities without losing a precious day. Accommodation is basic, but clean and comfortable - and we think the experience makes it more than worthwhile.

Will we only be travelling by train on a rail tour of Europe?
To make sure you get the most out of your experience, we choose transport that is best suited to the local area you are traveling in. For our rail tours of Europe this is mainly train or bus. Depending on the tour, we sometimes travel by boat, ferry, public bus or taxi.

How many people will be traveling on a rail holiday in Europe?
Our average tour group size for a rail holiday in Europe is just 11 people. We have found this to be the perfect number for meeting likeminded people whilst being small enough to get to the heart of our destinations. The group size will vary for each trip. 

What will the group be like on a rail journey in Europe? 
As with any holiday group, every one is different, so it’s impossible to tell, but an ‘average’ group consists of roughly half couples and half solo travelers.
