About walking tours in Wales

Join a group of up to 16 like-minded walkers and follow your Explore tour leader to discover spectacular trails right here in the UK. Head inland to explore the mighty peaks of Wales’ Snowdonia National Park or ramble along the Pembrokeshire coast to uncover craggy cliffs, unspoilt beaches and panoramic Atlantic Ocean views.

Graded moderate and moderate-to-challenging, our walking trips in Wales are suitable for travellers who are fit, active and can walk for 3-7 hours a day. The terrain is usually a mix of good paths and tracks but with some challenging ascents and occasional rough or uneven ground (see the individual trip notes for details). We will stay in a comfortable hotel or a simple family-run lodge for the duration of the trip, transferring by minibus to the start of our walk each day.

Best walking destinations in Wales

Pembrokeshire

Ideally located on the southwest coast of Wales, Pembrokeshire is one of the best places for a walking tour in Wales. Craggy limestone cliffs tower over the ocean, and secluded golden-sand bays gild the water’s edge. A myriad of seabird glide over the waves, and Atlantic seal occasionally pop their head above the water's surface as you wander along dusty footpaths lined with colourful wildflowers on our Pembrokeshire Coast Wales Walking Tour. Savor the scent as you pass clusters of yellow gorse blossom and discover flourishing wetlands at Abermawr Bay. And if you fancy a break from walking, a kayaking trip will give you an alternative perspective of the coastline and allow you to get up close to the abundant marine and bird life, and the natural rock stacks and arches that pepper the shoreline.

Snowdonia

Join our 5-day walking break in Snowdonia, Wales, and you’ll be in the middle of nature and away from the crowds before you know it! Your knowledgeable local tour leader will guide you up the highest mountain in Wales, Mount Snowdon, via a less trodden and more scenic route, and take you up to Glyder Fach, where shattered rock formations protrude from the grassy plateau. Towards the south, a walk through the Moelwyn hills reveals a softer landscape where sheep graze the grassy meadows, and secluded mirror-glass lakes dot the landscape.
