Meet our experts

We’re thrilled to be joined by two fantastic experts, expedition specialist and historian Carol Knott, as well as award-winning digital and broadcast presenter Saunders Carmichael-Brown. With plenty of hands-on experience between them, you’ll be coming away with fascinating tips and stories.

Carol Knott

Carol is a specialist in Polar history, frequently lecturing on famous explorers such as Scott, Amundsen and Shackleton, but she particularly enjoys teaching about more neglected but equally important contemporaries. Having spent a lifetime working as a field archaeologist and expedition guide, Carol has travelled for thirty years on expedition cruise ships and will be sharing insight into life on-board.

Saunders Carmichael-Brown

With a background and passion in adventure travel and sustainability, Saunders was an integral part of the Endurance discovery media team. His first visit to Antarctica left him hungry to return and continue where he left off, telling and sharing the stories of the polar regions, from history and wildlife to science and technology. His passion for protecting the natural world is a large part of his life and work, with the polar regions playing a significant role.
