How does a group biking trip work?
Every itinerary is slightly different, but in most cases, the cost of renting your bike will be included in the cost of your tour. Once you’re on the route, your local leader will keep you on the roads, paths and trails and take you to the highlights of your chosen destination along the way. Breaks are built into the itineraries, and while some of Explore Worldwide’s biking tours are more challenging and may need a higher level of fitness, you will be supported throughout.
Our small-group biking tours are a great way to explore a destination. Biking gives you the chance to immerse yourself in the landscapes and communities of your chosen destination. With an average group size of 11, you'll get to enjoy the ride with other like-minded riders. And you'll have a tour leader to lead your group and share their expert local knowledge.

How difficult are Explore Worldwide's Biking tours?
Our cycling trips are graded from Easy to Challenging. Most of our tours are graded from Easy to Moderate but experienced cyclists might prefer one of our Challenging tours.

How can I prepare for a biking tour?
We recommend that you spend some extra time in the saddle before you set off for your biking tour. How much time you spend building up your confidence will depend on your chosen trip its grade and your fitness levels.
It’s also important that you take all the right kit, from clothing that’s appropriate for the climate to a helmet to keep you safe. You’ll also want to think about think about snacks and sustenance. Read more about how to prepare for your biking trip.
Can I take my own bike on an Explore biking tour?
If you’d like to take your own bike with you, we may be able to support.
We supply good quality bicycles on all our cycling tours, and rental costs are included in the cost of the tour. You can find the full details of bikes included on the trip pages.
