Cycling trips for 50+ year olds

Our small group cycling tours are perfect for any age group, and the over 50s is no exception. Whether you’re already a keen cyclist, just starting out, or getting back onto the saddle after a break, our cycling tours are graded easy, moderate and challenging so you can pick a level to suit you. Most of our cycling tours also offer the option of upgrading to an e-bike so you can explore on two wheels with less effort.

Pedal along quiet country roads and chat with newfound friends as you follow your knowledgeable local Explore leader. They’ll look after all of the planning and logistics, and keep your bike running smoothly while you uncover breathtaking panoramas and indulge in tasty local cuisine.

Easy Cycling Trips

Our easy-graded cycling tours are very popular amongst travellers over 50. Pedal past verdant rice paddies and soak up the eclectic atmosphere of Ho Chi Minh’s colourful street markets on our Cycling Tour in Vietnam. Discover Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia on two wheels during our nine-day small group cycling tour in the Baltic States. Or, if you partake in gentle cycling regularly, you might enjoy our easy-to-moderate graded cycling tours through the verdant countryside of Cuba or along the peaceful cycle paths of Poland’s Baltic coast.

Moderate Cycling Trips

Our moderate-graded rides feature a few more climbs and longer days in the saddle, but it’s worth the extra effort to pedal through Morocco’s Draa Valley oasis and freewheel down the Atlas Mountains. A cycling trip to Croatia will take you along the sun-drenched Dalmatian Coast with aromatic lavender hills and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Or to take a path less travelled, our cycling tour through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in Southeast Asia is a bucket list favourite.

Challenging Cycling Trips

And for over 50s who want to test their fitness and stamina, we have a more demanding tour right here in the UK - a three-day cycle across the north of England from Whitehaven on the shores of the Irish Sea to Tynemouth on the east coast. Averaging 75km per day, this is a challenge you won’t forget, but the verdant hills of the Lake District and the panoramic views from the top of Hartside Pass make the gruelling climbs worthwhile.

E-Bike cycling trips for over 50s

Discovering a country on two wheels is an immersive cultural experience not to be missed, but if you’re worried that fitness or injury might hold you back or just want to take it easy and enjoy the views, an electric bike cycling trip is an excellent option.

Assisted by a small battery-powered motor, you’ll find pedalling much more manageable than on a traditional bike. Furthermore, e-bikes are great for friends or couples who want to ride together but are of different riding abilities or speeds.

Hire an e-bike to effortlessly ride along sandy beaches in Latvia on our Cycling the Baltic States tour, or make light work of the climbs up Hvar’s lavender cloaked hillsides on our Croatia cycling tour
