  2. Kayak the Islands of Croatia – On our Family Dubrovnik and Croatian Island Adventure, paddle between inlets, bays and islands near Lopud. Swim, snorkel and play beach games in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea.
  3. Sail Turkey’s Turquoise Coast – Cruise on a traditional gulet along the ancient Lycian coastline. Swim in quiet coves, snorkel over sunken ruins and explore charming villages with medieval castles.

What to Expect on a European Family Vacation

How active are the trips?
We offer trips at three activity levels: Relaxed (easy mornings and pool days), Moderate (fuller days with built-in downtime) and Full-On (busier schedules with early starts and longer journeys).

What age are the children?
The average age is around 13 but it varies by trip. Our travel specialists can provide details on who has already booked so you can choose the best fit for your family.

Are there age limits?
Most trips require children to be at least 7 years old. A few have a minimum age of 11. Age limits are in place to ensure a safe and inclusive experience for everybody on the tour.

How many families travel together?
Typically, three to five families join each small-group tour — just the right size to make new friends without losing the personal experience.

What’s the accommodation like?
Stay in a mix of locally owned hotels, homestays and lodges. Where possible, you’ll spend at least two nights in the same place. And since pools are family favorites, we prioritize properties with swimming facilities whenever we can.
