Challenging grade walking tours
A challenging grade walking tour is physically demanding but highly rewarding. You’ll want to make sure you’re fit and prepared - we recommend having prior trekking experience as they're a big step up from
leisurely walking tours. Challenging treks can involve long, steep ascents on rocky, uneven terrain, with an average hiking time of 6-8 hours. You may be trekking on routes with altitudes above 3,000m, where hiking can be trickier due to there being less oxygen in the air. Many challenging grade hiking trips are supported by expert mountain guides, porters and staff, but you will need to be fit and healthy to go on these trips.
Though these trips are tough, they are truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, whether you're climbing to the summit of North Africa’s highest peak,
Jebel Toubkal, or trekking the unique
Annapurna Sanctuary. These destinations are often vast and rural, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of modern city life. While accommodation and facilities can be basic due to their remote locations, you’ll be delighted by the warm hospitality and comradery of fellow hikers. There’s nothing quite like reaching the summit of a mountain, surrounded by newfound friends and unforgettable views.
