What Was The Highlight Or Most Memorable Moment Of Your Tour
An amazing trip to get an insight into this secluded part of West Africa. I have learnt so much about the area, it is unbelieveable, the voodoo, village life, slavery, ancient African culutre and history dating back to the 17th century, current African issues. etc. Just mind blowing and an eye-opener.
Tour Leader Name
How Was Your Explore Tour Leader
The knowledge of Noah was just astonishing. The best guide I have ever had with great personal and social skills as well as caring, attentive, knowlodgable with a great sense of humour.
What Tips Would You Give To Someone Else Booking This Tour
Do not spend the £260 on the Togo visa via visaswift, as you are only in Togo for 3 days and you can buy a 7 day visa on arrival for 30 euros!! Only one pair of shoes are enough, the walks are very short and very easy. And do not forget your Malorone, it's a high risk area and we got eaten alive by the mosquitoes regardless of DEET.
What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
All the mask dances, especially the last one (Zangdeto). Also the many small, unscheduled encounters with people doing their everyday activities such as panning for gold dust, making salt, distilling liquor, a church service, a wedding etc.
How was your Explore Tour Leader?
Hardworking, and a very upbeat and enthusiastic personality. Was good about stopping wherever something interesting was going on.
What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
Take malaria pills. Be prepared for extreme heat and dust. Do not bother with a sleeping bag - it is much too hot. Be mentally prepared for some shocking and distressing sights, such as all the dead birds and animals in the Fetiche Market.
Do you have anything else to add?
The Royal Air Maroc flight was a horrible schedule.
