Please review your overall experience and what your highlights were

There was so much packed into the 3 weeks that it felt like I was in Peru for ages! I was so eager to get to the Inca Trail, and all the other activities along the way were like a bonus build-up. My highlight was definitely Machu Picchu, and the 3 days hike along the Inca Trail were really enjoyable and made it so much more rewarding - and I never ever camp! The food that the chef cooked us over a few camp stoves on the trail was some of the best I have ever tasted, and the porters are all heroes for their hard work. I also loved Lake Titicaca - the Uros Islands were fascinating, and the homestay on Taquile was so peaceful, very different than I expected, more like a B&B. The whole tour was exceptionally well planned out, the hotels all clean & comfortable, and our tour leader was fantastic.

Please review your overall experience and what your highlights were

Hotels were generally good but do not expect European standards. All of the excursions in the main tour were excellent and provided a good variety of experiences of the culture, landscape and history of Peru. We saw most of the animals mentioned in the Amazon tour notes and really enjoyed experiencing the rainforest but was disappointed with the cultural excursions which were not as listed.

What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

Arriving at the sun gate after trekking the Inca trail. Machu picchu was quiet as it had been raining and the atmosphere was amazing. We visited again the next day but there were loads of other tourist and although magical it wasn't quite the same. This is an amazing trip from the Pacific Coast to the mountains and the rainforest. It's full on but worth it. The Nazca lines from the air, fascinating. Amazon jungle, going to sleep with the noise of the jungle and luckily enough sform Not the ideal place for a vegeterian but worth the sacrifice

What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

Make sure you get all the details from the Tour Leader before they depart in Cuzco as I hadn't expected such a long journey from the Amazon to Lima.  Read the Trip Notes carefully to make sure you have everything you need for the different places and for what to expect.
I had three main highlights (although the whole holiday was brilliant and very busy).  Taquile Island, seeing the condors and walking the Inca Trail.  Taquile Island was lovely and peaceful and almost felt like a Mediterranean island with a deep blue lake around.  I had only expected to see condors in the distance so when they started to fly close to us and one flew directly overhead it was thrilling.  The Inca Trail was far more beautiful than I had expected and I loved walking it and being in the mountains.  And of course Machu Picchu was fantastic.
