Country-specific entry requirements
We recommend you check the government website
for up to the minute latest advice on entry requirements in this fast evolving situation. Information can change at any time.
COVID-19 testing for entry to destination
Many countries have introduced a requirement to carry proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within a defined timescale of arrival. The defined timescale is for when the sample was taken, not from the date on which the result was delivered. We strongly advise that you check with the relevant Embassy travel advice to ensure that the test you decide on meets their entry requirements. If your flights transit through another country please also ensure you meet the travel requirements for that country.
COVID-19 testing for return to the US
Travelers are required to show proof of a negative Covid test taken 3 days prior to arrival by air into the United States, regardless of their vaccination status. You can purchase these before travel and take them with you, or you may take a test at a suitable testing provider in destination. Explore’s small group trips will factor in time in the itinerary for you to obtain your test and certification, and your leader will be on hand to assist. Prices vary depending on your destination. If traveling on a self-guided tour we recommend you purchase a self-administered test prior to travel as on these trips you are often traveling further away from testing facilities. This type of test allows you to self-administer under supervision by video call in order to obtain certification needed to travel back to the US. Please check the requirements
for what type of tests will be accepted. If you are transiting through another country this may vary so you must also check the requirements for entry to that country.
